What's Included?
- 1x Machined Aluminum Latch Patch Bracket
- 4x Flat Head Torx Screws
Tools & Supplies Required
- Painters Tape if you want to mark the approximate previous location
- A T30 Torx Bit and Driver
- A Torque Wrench (recommend for exact tightening spec)
Step #1 - Remove the existing D-Pillar Latch Bolts
Using a driver and a T30 Torx Bit remove the existing D-Pillar latch bolts and latches. Some customers find it can be helpful to mark the angle of the end of the latch on the d-pillar with painters tape to get the approximate angle correct when reinstalling. We find personally that it's easier to simply use the door to get this lined back up after the latch patch goes on.
Step #2 Install the Latch Patch Loosely
Using the included M6 Torx hardware. Loosely install the latch patch and the brackets. Make sure the brackets are installed the correct direction. There is a small doomed bump that fits in a recess inside of the latch patch. Also the latches bend down and out like seen in the picture to the left when installed correctly.
Step #3 Line up the latches to the door
Using the doors almost closed you can line up each doors bracket to the door pocket and tighen up the T30 screws a little bit more to hold them in that postion.
Step #4 Check Door Sealing
Close the doors and check to make sure the upper seals are compressing slightly and getting a good door seal. If not you will need to loosen and slide the the latched back towards the inside of the van slightly & retighten.
If however the door seal nicely you can finally torque each bolt to spec at ~9–10 N·m (~7 ft-lb)
